Performance tuning can increase the power output on your vehicle significantly, the gains vary from engine to engine but in some cases on downturned models, these can be up to 90%.
The Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 80ps/100ps/125ps is one example where all variants use the same engine but run different software which limits the engines power output, with a Stage 1 performance remap they can all be tuned to a similar performance of 145+bhp meaning gains of over 80% on the 1.0 80bhp model.
This is now becoming prevalent on the latest engines with Ford, BMW, Mercedes, and the VAG group all known to restrict output in order to release multiple models and trim levels with the least variation of engines.
Economy tuning can reduce the vehicle’s mpg consumption by up to 20%, typical gains are 8-12%, with some engines seeing much more based on driving styles.

I’ve... been plagued by intermittent EML / “start-stop” issues for the past few weeks with my diesel Golf, but after only 4 hours in the workshop all my woes were gone.
The car was up on the ramp, the subframe was dropped to get the DPF out, which was then cleaned out VERY well on the bench, put back in, EGR electronically closed (showing as being in the 100% closed position on the live OBD data), and the car has been remapped to a very healthy figure.
It now pulls like a train, has no warning lights at all, and it’s running much sweeter! I can’t believe how much more spritely the car is to drive, but also how much more economical it is too!

The 4wd dyno they have is flat on the floor, and when the car pulls hard, it simulates it as it's been driven normally. This adds confidence compared to those inclined 2wd dynos, especially if the car is rwd.
